You can set the timer up to 15 minutes, and the mixer stops when the timer's done, and it beeps to let you know it's done mixing.

There are also a lot of attachments you can get to add more functionality to this mixer. I don't have any of them myself, so I can't comment much on them. But the accessories / attachments available include a blender, meat-grinder, food processor, pasta-maker, and juicer.
